New Delhi, Dec 30: Dense fog threw flight schedules into disarray at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday, leading to widespread cancellations, diversions and delays.
As many as 118 flights were called off, while 16 services were diverted to alternate airports and around 130 flights faced delays.

According to airport officials, 60 inbound and 58 outbound flights were cancelled during the disruption.
Data from flight-tracking platform Flightradar24 showed that departures were delayed by an average of about 28 minutes as poor visibility continued to affect operations through the morning.
Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), which manages IGIA and oversees nearly 1,300 daily flight movements, said in a post on X that operations were largely normal, though flights not equipped with CAT III systems were vulnerable to disruption. CAT III capability enables aircraft to land and take off in low visibility conditions.
Amid the weather-related disruption, the Civil Aviation Ministry said airlines have been directed to strictly follow passenger assistance guidelines.

These include providing timely updates, arranging meals for delayed travellers, offering rebooking or refunds in case of cancellations, ensuring no passenger is denied boarding after timely check-in, facilitating baggage handling and addressing grievances promptly.
