Ranchi, Nov 24: BIT Sindri, a Jharkhand government owned premier engineering college, is decked up for the global annual alumni meet scheduled to be held on November 26.
Prof Prakash Kumar, dean of BIT Sindri Alumni Affairs while releasing the programme schedule said that preparation has been completed to make it a grand success. Altogether 200 alumni living in the country and abroad have confirmed their participation.
Besides alumni branches in Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Delhi and other parts of the country, BITians living USA have a strong organisation and they contribute immensely to the academic as well as the infrastructure of their alma mater.

Alumni meet to begin at 10.15 am
The Dean of Alumni Affairs said that the programme will kick start at 10.15 am on November 26. After the lamp lightning ritual, BIT Alumni Association secretary Umesh Prasad Sah will welcome the guest followed by an address from the Dean of Alumni Affairs.
BITSAA (BIT Sindri Alumni Association) president Amit Roy, on the occasion, will present the details of the development projects initiated by his team in the last two years for the institution in his presidential address. Alumni Association’s treasurer Rajendra Murmu would also put up accounts of the association.
BIT director cum patron of the Alumni Association Prof Pankaj Rai will also address the function and make the alumni aware of the achievements the institution has got at the national level recently.

JUT VC to be chief guest
The chief guest of the meet, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) Prof DK Singh (former BIT director) will address the gathering at 11 am.
Prof BN Rai, Dean of Students Welfare (DSW), BIT Sindri, who is also co-president of the BIT Sindri Alumni Association would propose a vote of thanks.
Later in the day, the election for new office bearers of BIT Sindri Alumni Association would be conducted for the 2023-25 session.
