Jharkhand CM lays foundation for 300-bed Apollo multi-speciality hospital

Ranchi, Oct 7: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday laid the foundation stone of Apollo multi-speciality hospital with a capacity of over 300 beds in Ranchi’s Smart City complex.

“Our government is committed to fulfilling the basic needs of the state’s citizens, and continuous efforts are being made in this direction. As part of these efforts, today marks an important step in the healthcare sector while also realizing the dream of homeownership for many people”, he said on this occasion.

He also handed over the keys of newly constructed homes to the beneficiaries of the Islam Nagar Urban Housing Project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in Ranchi, fulfilling their dream of owning a home.

COVID-19 pandemic exposed shortcomings of healthcare systems worldwide: CM

The Chief Minister stated that the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed the weaknesses in healthcare systems across the globe. In particular, it highlighted the severe shortage of hospitals, doctors, medicines, and other medical facilities in backward and impoverished states like Jharkhand.

“However, our government, through effective management, successfully overcame the challenges posed by the pandemic. Following this, our government has prioritized improving healthcare services, taking significant steps to ensure that the people of our state have access to better and world-class healthcare facilities,” he said.

Efforts to engage world-class institutions ongoing: CM

The Chief Minister mentioned that efforts are being made to engage world-class institutions across various sectors, including healthcare, which are renowned globally for their excellent services. The government is taking concrete steps to strengthen the state’s healthcare system through private sector participation.

He added that the foundation of Apollo Hospital will serve as a milestone in improving the state’s healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, the Azim Premji Foundation is establishing several world-class institutions in the same complex.

He affirmed that the government will provide full support to those seeking to open medical colleges and hospitals in the state.

Rapid expansion of healthcare facilities

The Chief Minister stated that healthcare facilities in the state are expanding rapidly, and efforts are being made to address the shortcomings in the medical service system. The government is working to ensure that quality healthcare is easily accessible to every individual.

He further said that with a focus on preventing the state’s poor from having to travel to large hospitals in other states for treatment, the government is striving to provide world-class, modern medical infrastructure and services. This will help them avoid the high costs associated with treatment at major hospitals.
