Jharkhand govt launches health security scheme for lawyers

Ranchi, Nov 14: In a big relief for the state’s legal community, the Jharkhand government on Friday launched the Advocate Health Security Scheme, giving thousands of lawyers access to structured health support. State Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan inaugurated the SEHIS online portal, marking a new digital chapter in the welfare of advocates.

15,000 lawyers eligible in first phase

The event saw participation from lawyers across Jharkhand, including those representing the government in the High Court. A total of 15,000 advocates registered with the Jharkhand Advocate Welfare Fund Trustee Committee have been included in the scheme’s first phase.

During the programme, officials explained the key benefits and eligibility criteria of the scheme. A live demo showed lawyers how to submit their details online.

Simple online application process via SEHIS

Registered advocates can visit www.sehis.jharkhand.gov.in to register, log in, and fill in complete information about themselves and their family members.

Officials said the portal is designed to make access to health benefits faster and easier for lawyers across all districts.

Senior officials guide the rollout

The programme was attended by Medical Insurance Committee Chairman and Additional Advocate General Ashutosh Anand, Senior Standing Counsel Ashok Kumar Yadav, Government Advocate Manoj Kumar, and other senior lawyers.

From the Jharkhand State Health Society (JSAS), GM Praveen Chandra Mishra, Finance Manager Vivek Kumar Nayak, and Senior Consultant Anshu Kumar Singh gave details about the scheme’s structure and portal features.

Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan instructed officials to set up assistance camps in every district so that registered advocates can get support while filling their online forms and avail benefits without difficulty.
