Jamshedpur, Oct 13: The Wildlife Week Celebrations 2025, jointly organized by Tata Steel Zoological Park and the Jamshedpur Forest Division, concluded on a vibrant note on Sunday with a special event held on the main lawn of Tata Steel Zoological Park.

The week-long celebrations, filled with interactive and educational activities, aimed to spread awareness about wildlife protection and the importance of maintaining ecological balance.

The highlight of the closing ceremony was the felicitation of the winners of the Photography Competition held at Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary on the theme “Wildlife and Nature Conservation.”

Renowned photojournalist Anoop Mishra won the first prize for his striking visual depiction of nature’s beauty and the need for conservation. He received a cash prize of ₹10,000, a certificate, and a memento, which were presented by Chief Guest Paritosh Upadhyay, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Jharkhand.

Netesha, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Jharkhand, graced the event as the Special Guest. Addressing the gathering, both officials underscored the urgent need for wildlife conservation amid growing environmental challenges.

They stressed that human progress and nature must coexist harmoniously to ensure a sustainable future and urged citizens, particularly the youth, to actively contribute to environmental protection efforts.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including DFO Saba Alam Ansari, Ranger Dinesh Chandra, Dr. Seema Rani (Biologist-cum-Education Officer, Tata Steel Zoological Park), and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mahato (Curator).

A large number of school students, environmentalists, and local residents participated enthusiastically in the concluding event, making it a grand success.

The Wildlife Week 2025 celebrations served as a reminder of the collective responsibility to protect the rich biodiversity of the region and to nurture a deeper connection with nature for future generations.
