Dhanbad, Dec 24: The Jharkhand Bangla Bhasha Unanayan Samiti has given a clean chit to BJP Dhanbad MP Dhulu Mahto, stating that his remarks about CPIML Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee were not directed against the Bangla language.
Vengu Thakur, the State President of the Jharkhand Bangla Bhasha Unanayan Samiti, while speaking to the media at Dhanbad’s Randhir Verma Chowk, alleged that some supporters of MLA Arup Chatterjee had been misusing the Samiti’s banner to defame MP Dhulu Mahto in the name of the Bangla language, which he called wrong and unwarranted.

“MP Dhulu Mahto, while addressing a meeting in Nirsa a few days ago, had said that he would not tolerate hooliganism and would not allow Nirsa to become Bangladesh. Whatever Dhulu Mahto said in Nirsa was personally directed against his political rival, MLA Arup Chatterjee, and not against the Bangla-speaking people,” said Vengu Thakur, President of the Samiti.
On Monday, Samrat Choudhary, Secretary of the Bangla Bhasha Unanayan Samiti in Dhanbad, had held a meeting and alleged that the Dhanbad MP had insulted the Bangla-speaking people of the state.
Vengu Thakur clarified that vested interests were misinterpreting MP Mahto’s statement, which could send the wrong message in the state. He reaffirmed that the Bangla Bhasha Unanayan Samiti supports Dhulu Mahto.
