Dhanbad, April 8: The expert technocrats of BIT Sindri shared their experience on the importance of ‘Research Practice and Publication’ during the day-long workshop at Rajendra Prasad Hall of the institution.

The Department of Civil Engineering had organised the workshop as a part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the institution.

Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Rai, director of the institution, was the chief guest and Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Pandey, former Vice-Chancellor of ( Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) and head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, was the guest of honour.

Dr. Prakash Kumar, dean of alum affairs and retired professor Dr Vikrama Pandey (civil engineering department) were special guests.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar Shukla, the founding editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Geosynthetics and Ground Engineering, Switzerland, was the chief speaker, and he delved into a detailed discussion on research and innovation, emphasising the importance of the National Education Policy (NEP) in research areas.
Earlier in the programme, Dr Jitu Kujur, head of the Civil Engineering Department, welcomed guests and spoke about the importance of research today.

Dr. Komal Kumari, coordinator of the event, presented an overview of the workshop’s agenda and welcomed the researchers from various engineering institutions and industrial persons across the state.

Expert technocrats in the workshop

Dr. Vijay Kumar Pandey, in his address, mentioned Sanjay Kumar Shukla’s seven mantras” and highlighted the current research scenario. Dr. Prakash Kumar discussed the importance of generating interest among students in research areas. Dr. Vikrama Pandey talked about the significance of research for youth.

Dr. Brahmadeo Yadav, Coordinator of the event & Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department, proposed a vote of thanks.

The program was attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students from the civil engineering department and students from various institutions across the state.

Dr Udai Kumar Singh, Prof. Prafulla Kumar Sharma, Dr Maya Rajnarayan Ray, Dr Sumit Kumar, Dr Abhijit Anand, Prof. Nipen Kumar Das, Prof. Prakash Kumar, Prof. Iqbal Sheikh, and Prof. Saroj Meena, Adarsh Kumar were instrumental in making the program successful.

Prof. Prashant Ranjan Malviya coordinated the program coordinated the programme.
