Daltonganj, May 31: “Experiential learning programme is to be promoted. A student in university education must learn to gain skills,” is the mantra of the Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Nilamber Pitamber University Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh.

“About skills, it is to be seen that skill proficiency ought to be in the local ambience. It shouldn’t be any outlandish. It should be of local trend and trait,” added the Vice Chancellor.

A meeting of the VCs of the state universities and private universities in Jharkhand with the Governor cum Chancellor of the state universities Santosh Gangwar was held a couple of days ago in the Raj Bhavan Ranchi where the Nilamber Pitamber University’s VC asked for promotion of skill and studies together.
“There are sectors like goatery, poultry, nursery etc where experiential learning programme can be of good value for the students,” added the VC of NPU.

Rising Cybercrime Calls for Student Awareness Initiatives
Sources reminded that the Dowry Prohibition Act was passed in India in 1961 and then right from the schools down to the colleges and universities in India, everyone looked too scared of it.

Now in the 2020’s it’s cyber fraud and cyber crime that affects students. Some of the students are involved in it too.
It’s incumbent upon universities to create awareness of the dangers and threats of cyber offences, which can ruin the fortunes of victims and also compromise the fate and assets of cyber fraudsters.

The Jharkhand Story correspondent carried a survey of the students of this Nilamber Pitamber University to know about their banking business.
The majority of the students hardly know what debit or credit means, although they know how to pay digitally.
“It’s time to take the minds of the students from the classrooms to the world outside, where awareness alone can help tide over many issues gripping the students”, reiterated the VC.
