Jamshedpur, Jan 21: Preparations for the forthcoming Republic Day celebration have begun here following instructions of East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal.
On the first day, rehearsal of the platoon which will participate in the parade was conducted at the Police Lines in Golmuri.
This year, there will be eight platoons in the parade of the district-level function, which includes 1 platoon of JAP-6, 3 platoons of District Police Force (including auxiliary police), 1 platoon of District Home Guard and 2 platoons of NCC (female/male) and scouts.

The rehearsal of the parade will also be held tomorrow, January 22 at Police Lines and the full dress rehearsal is scheduled to take place at the Gopal Maidan on January 24, which will be jointly inspected by the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal.
The Republic Day celebration will take place at the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur on January 26, Sunday.
Minister Ramdas Soren would unfurl the national tricolour at the Republic Day celebration.
