Daltonganj April 14: The Town police have exposed a case of Aadhaar card manipulation, highlighting its vulnerabilities. Sadar SDPO Mani Bhushan Prasad revealed that Hari Tiwary, a notorious figure linked to organised crime, managed to obtain a fake Aadhaar card.

Tiwary used the Aadhaar number of Sumeet Kumar, a resident of Gaya, Bihar, and superimposed his own photograph and address in place of Kumar’s original details.
Despite Aadhaar’s biometric safeguards, police are puzzled by how gangster’s aide Tiwary managed to alter the details so effectively. Authorities have initiated efforts to trace and track the method used, though it remains unclear whether Sumeet Kumar himself is aware that his Aadhaar credentials have been misused.

Adding to the complexity, Tiwary already holds an Aadhaar card under his original identity, Dhirender Tiwary. His creation of a second identity points to a deliberate criminal strategy aimed at evading law enforcement.

Police said that exposing this manipulation was crucial, as Hari Tiwary has a long history of criminal cases and shows no signs of remorse. Officers noted that his continued incarceration is necessary for maintaining public safety, as his release would pose a renewed threat.
