Dhanbad, Nov 14: The Jharkhand Diabetes and Eye Centre (JDEC) hosted a health check-up camp today in observance of World Diabetes Day, aiming to educate the public about preventive measures against the silent disease.

Social activist Radheysham Patwari inaugurated the week-long camp, which saw over 255 participants from Dhanbad and surrounding districts attending to receive various health tests.

Dr. Ajay Patwari and Dr. Seema Patwari, while addressing the attendees, explained that diabetes can be controlled through a healthier lifestyle. “For this, we have to take nutritious food and avoid junk food, especially white wheat and sweet items completely,” they said.

Dr. Patwari, considered a diabetes specialist in Jharkhand, also emphasized the importance of physical activity. “Regular walk for 30-40 minutes can also check the diabetes,” he said.

The camp, which will run until November 21, offers free health check-ups and guidance on preventing the disease.

Dr. Seema Patwari mentioned, “The camp will continue for a week till November 21. The participants would get free of cost check-ups and advice for preventing the disease.”
