NIT Jamshedpur student dies after falling from 5th floor

Jamshedpur, May 17: A tragic incident took place on Friday evening in the RIT police station area of Adityapur, where a 20-year-old student, Devanshu Gandhi, died after falling from the fifth floor of Dream Apartment. The incident sent shockwaves across the locality.

Devanshu Gandhi, originally from Hatia in Ranchi, had been living in the apartment for the past one and a half months.

He was a Computer Science student at NIT Jamshedpur, and Friday marked the day of his final examination.

According to reports, after completing his exam, Devanshu went to the fifth floor of the apartment, where he accidentally slipped and fell.

He was immediately rushed to the Tata Main Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him as brought dead.

Family members revealed that Devanshu had been undergoing treatment for mental health issues in Ranchi. He was the elder of two siblings.

Following the incident, police arrived at the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it for postmortem examination on Saturday morning.

A detailed investigation is currently underway.
