Daltonganj, June 6: Palamu administration has shortlisted a total of 585 posts of fourth-grade against which it is to recruit the personnel, and the entire recruitment process is to be final and over by August 9 as per the order of the Supreme Court.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sameera S said, “We have found out the number of vacancies for the fourth-grade staff from various departments. It’s 585.”

“Reservation roster for the recruitment has been drawn and completed. It’s now to initiate the process of recruitment,” said the DC.

When asked about the finer points in the advertisement for the recruitment for fourth-grade staff, the DC said, “Once the advertisement is in the public domain, one can see all about the finer points in the recruitment.”

Massive Public Interest Expected

Administrative sources expect an avalanche of applications for this fourth-grade recruitment. Some put it to 40,000 or so. Some expect applications in the range of 25,000 to 30,000.

Elderly persons will be preferred, but there is a definite age bar. Registration with the employment exchange of the district is mandated. The aspirant for recruitment has to be physically fit and strong. He or she is to be a 10th pass.

Old circulars of the state of Bihar, which are in vogue in Jharkhand, speak of applicants for fourth-grade employment to be adept at cycling.

Strict Compliance with Supreme Court Orders

Additional Collector Kundan Kumar told this correspondent that the Supreme Court has directed to recruit in accordance with the ‘extant Rules and observations’ prevalent in the state.

Supreme Court, however, has given relaxation in age of those persons whose recruitments were quashed following contravention of a couple of Articles of the Constitution in their recruitment.

Sources said a brainstorming session is on in this regard to meet the deadline for this recruitment, which is August 9 as given by the Supreme Court.
