Daltonganj, Oct 1: There is a considerable pendency of cases in the court of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sadar Medininagar.
The SDM Court admits cases under sections 126,127, 154,163, 156, 166 etc of Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita 2023.
2022 batch IAS officer Sulochana Meena, who joined here as Sadar Medininagar SDM, only a week ago said, “There is a pendency of cases. Dates of October and November are packed.”
Sources said the recent Lok Sabha election held in the first half of the year 2024 has left a trail of cases pending.
Meena is toying with the idea of increasing the court day, right now, from two in a working week to five days in a working week.
If it is launched then there is a hope of faster taking up of cases here and its disposal too.

Land dispute cases dominate court proceedings
She agreed, “It’s land dispute cases that come in abundance. It accounts for 70 per cent or so.”
“The DC has asked for an e-office. This e-office is the sole idea of the DC here. We are to take it forward,” added Sulochana Meena.
An E-office stalls tampering with the documents. If tampering is checked or contained then a lot of associated issues don’t crop up.
A tampered document is a breeding ground for many a problem which eats into the system.
Preparations for upcoming assembly elections
As SDM Sadar Medininagar is invariably the RO (Returning Officer) in the Vidhan Sabha election for the Daltonganj assembly constituency here, she was asked about her work or progress on the coming Vidhan Sabha election to which Sulochana Meena said, “I am to assist the Nodal Officer of the SVEEP Md Jawed Hussain, IAS, City Commissioner.”
She said, “We are planning to go for an online quiz competition with the subject of election and its related issues, after the Durga Puja.”

Sulochana Meena went on to add, ” We will shortlist 1,000 successful participants who will clear the quiz competition. The shortlisted successful will be having a free water sport at Malay Dam. We will arrange their travel and water sports etc. It will be all free to them.”
“I find the local dialect a bit teasing here otherwise language is no issue. I had my training in Hazaribag and hence it’s smooth sailing with Hindi. It’s only the dialect here to be understood,” she said.
