Jamshedpur, Feb 25: Tata Steel Zoological Society (TSZS) in association with the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Awadh Dental College organised an awareness campaign to commemorate National Oral Pathologist Day today.

The event was mainly aimed to educate and motivate employees, labourers and visitors of TSZP to quit tobacco and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

The programme commenced with a speech by Naim Akhtar, Deputy Director (GA), Tata Steel Zoological Park (TSZP) and Manik Palit, Deputy Director (Vet), TSZP. They addressed the zoo employees, emphasizing the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and encouraging them to opt for healthy lifestyle choices. Their motivational words resonated with the audience, reinforcing the importance of oral health and overall well-being.

Following the session, medical experts from Awadh Dental College & Hospital, including Dr. Rajiv Bhushan and Dr. Abhijeet, took charge of the campaign. They were accompanied by 12 BDS students from the college, who actively engaged with the participants using informative posters and banners. Through these visual aids, they effectively communicated the dangers of tobacco consumption and the benefits of quitting.

The campaign made a significant impact, reaching out to more than 200 beneficiaries. The interactive sessions provided valuable insights into the preventive measures against oral diseases, and ways to quit its usage.

The interactive sessions were organised at three places in the zoo to ensure wider coverage and benefit to all concerned. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the participants, speakers, and organizers for their contributions.

As a token of appreciation, both Deputy Directors of TSZP, Naim Akhtar and Manik Palit, were felicitated for their unwavering support and commitment towards promoting a healthier society.
