Dhanbad, Nov 27: Chandrapura Thermal Power Station (CTPS) clinched the 2nd DVC All-Valley Kabaddi Championship by defeating Bokaro Thermal Power Station (BTPS) 60-48 in a thrilling final held at the DVC Ground, Maithon.

From the outset, the Chandrapura team displayed their championship calibre, securing an early lead and maintaining their dominance until the final whistle.

The three-day tournament featured six teams representing various Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) units, including Maithon Hydel Power Station, Panchet Hydel Power Station, Andal Thermal Power Station, Koderma Thermal Power Station, Chandrapura Thermal Power Station, and Bokaro Thermal Power Station.

An official announced that the DVC team will now represent the corporation at the All-India Power Sector Kabaddi Championship, scheduled to take place in Maithon this January.

Anjani Kumar Dubey, DVC Maithon Project Chief, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He presented the winner’s trophy to the triumphant Chandrapura team and lauded the efforts of all participants. Encouraging the teams, he remarked, “Victory and defeat are integral parts of life. Even in defeat, we must strive to improve and give our best performance.”

The runner-up trophy was awarded to the Bokaro Thermal Power Station team by Senior General Manager S.P. Singh and Sanjiv Srivastava.

The event’s success was attributed to the efforts of key organizers, including Sanjiv Srivastava, Tapas Roy, Utpal Saha, Parthsarthi Mukherjee, Arvind Singh, Chandra Shekhar Prasad, Shiva, and Ashish, whose dedication ensured the smooth execution of the tournament.
