Loyola School Jamshedpur celebrates Bagless Day with industry visits and activities

Jamshedpur, May 5: Loyola School, Jamshedpur, brought learning beyond textbooks to life with its Bagless Day — a vibrant celebration of experiential education, industrial exposure, and student-led creativity.

As part of the day’s agenda, students visited a range of local industries and institutions including RSB Transmission and the media house. These visits provided learners with valuable first-hand insights into the workings of diverse sectors such as automobile engineering, hospitality, and journalism, enabling them to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications.

Back on campus, club activities transformed the school grounds into hubs of innovation and expression. The Tarumitra Club hosted “Terra Scope,” a competition aimed at promoting environmental consciousness and sustainable solutions.

In parallel, the Entrepreneur Club conducted “SharkSmart 2025,” a platform where students pitched business ideas and engaged in debates, mirroring the competitive world of startups.

The Robotics Club impressed with Aeroglide, where student-built robots raced and solved tasks, showcasing advanced programming and mechanical design. The Maths Club held the Ramanujan Quiz for standard 11 students, encouraging logical reasoning and mathematical brilliance. Meanwhile, the Art and Craft Club provided a creative outlet with hands-on sessions that celebrated artistic imagination.

For the junior section, a thoughtful ‘Mom’s Meet’ created space for informal interaction between teachers and mothers. The session aimed to strengthen home-school collaboration and ensure shared goals in nurturing children into compassionate and responsible Loyoleans.

Principal Vinod Fernandes emphasized, “Bagless Day is not just a break from books, but a step towards building well-rounded individuals. It encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world readiness — all essential traits of a 21st-century learner.”
