Patna, Feb 6: The MP-MLA court in Patna has rejected the bail petition of former MLA Anant Singh in connection with the Mokaama firing case. The court had reserved its verdict after hearing the case on Wednesday. Reports confirm that Anant Singh’s bail petition was rejected in relation to two cases linked to the incident.

Former MLA Anant Singh surrendered to authorities after a violent shooting incident on January 22 in the Nauranga and Panchmahla police station areas of Mokaama. The incident occurred between his gang and the Sonu-Monu gang. Anant Singh was subsequently sent to Beur Jail and has been in jail since January 24.

In the same case, Sonu is also incarcerated, while his brother Monu remains on the run. The altercation was reportedly sparked by an attempt to open the lock of a house. Approximately 60-70 rounds were fired during the shooting. Singh narrowly escaped the gunfire, but one of his supporters sustained injuries.
