THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK
New Delhi, July 29: Union Home Minister Amit Shah told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that security forces have eliminated three terrorists responsible for the recent Pahalgam attack during a joint anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation, codenamed Mahadev, was carried out by the Indian Army, CRPF and J&K Police in the Lidwas area near Dachigam National Park on Monday.
The Home Minister said that among those killed was Suleman alias Faizal, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, along with two other A-category terrorists, Afghan and Jibran.

Shah said these men had brutally murdered civilians in Baisaran valley after identifying them by religion. “This barbaric act will not be forgiven. I extend my condolences to the families who lost their loved ones,” he added.
The Home Minister further informed that the trio had been identified after their bodies were brought to Srinagar, with assistance from individuals detained earlier for providing them logistical support. He reiterated that the agencies acted swiftly to neutralize those behind the heinous attack.
Killed Terrorists Were Pakistani Nationals, Says Shah
Shah also clarified in Parliament that all three terrorists killed in Monday’s encounter were Pakistani nationals. His statement served as a sharp rebuttal to Congress leader P. Chidambaram, who had earlier questioned whether the attackers were “homegrown” rather than foreign terrorists. Responding strongly, Shah accused Chidambaram of giving Pakistan a “clean chit” with such remarks.

The Home Minister asserted that India has irrefutable proof of their Pakistani origin, revealing that two of the terrorists had Pakistani voter identification numbers and even the chocolates recovered from them were manufactured in Pakistan.
This clarification was made during a discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, directly countering the Congress leader’s claim.
