Jharkhand News: Ramgarh police arrest four of tractor theft gang

Ramgarh, June 12: The police have arrested four members of a tractor theft gang from Sindoor of Korra police station area of Hazaribag.

These include gang leader Raja Malhar alias Kailash Malhar (32 years), Nagda Malhar (22 years), Shanicharwa Malhoria (29 years) (all three residents of Mandu police station area) and Pintu Malhar (30 years), a resident of Kondara, police station in Hazaribagh. All were currently living in Sindoor village of Hazaribagh.

While investigating the case, police recovered three tractors from the Chandwara police station area of Koderma. One Bajaj Discover motorcycle and two mobiles have been seized from the accused.

Revealing the matter, Ramgarh SP Dr Bimal Kumar said at a press conference that for the past few months, incidents of tractor theft have been continuously occurring in Ramgarh district.

Cases have been registered in various police stations and OP regarding this. To take legal action against the thieves, the SP constituted a team under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ramgarh Parmeshwar Prasad and directed action.

Investigating the matter, based on a piece of secret information, the team arrested four accused of a tractor thief gang living in Sindoor under Korra police station (Hazaribagh).

Stolen tractors sold in Koderma

On strict interrogation of the four accused, they confessed that for the last six months, all four along with the gang leader Raja Malhar alias Kailash Malhar used to steal tractors in Ramgarh and Hazaribagh districts and the stolen tractors were sold in Chandwara of Koderma district.

According to the information given by the arrested accused, one tractor each was recovered from Ashok Yadav’s house, one tractor from Ranjit Yadav’s house and one tractor from Vicky Singh’s crusher under Chandwara police station (Koderma). Raids are underway for the arrest of the remaining accused and recovery of tractors.

The Superintendent of Police said that cases have already been registered against the arrested accused in many police stations. When the criminal history of the arrested accused was observed, it was found that Pintu Malhar had earlier also gone to jail from Jageshwar Bihar (Bokaro) police station in a tractor theft case, he added.
