Jamshedpur, August 29: Tata Steel Foundation and Tata Motors have signed a non-financial Memorandum of Agreement towards a collaborative effort at providing students from ITI Tamar, ITI Chandil, ITI Jagganathpur, and ITI Banspal with valuable industrial exposure and skill development opportunities.

As part of the collaboration, the training will be extended at the Jamshedpur facility of Tata Motors.

The MoU was signed between Ravindra Narsimha Kulkarni, Plant Head, Tata Motors and Sourav Roy, Chief Executive Officer, Tata Steel Foundation.

This is an annual, cyclical process of the dual system of training propounded by the Directorate General of Training, Government of India.

Practical training directly within Tata Motors’ facilities

Students will receive hands-on experience and practical training directly within Tata Motors’ facilities, ensuring that their education is closely aligned with current industry standards and practices.

Tata Motors will provide a stipend, lodging, boarding, transportation, and medical facilities to students during their training period.

This support will help ease the transition from academic learning to professional application, enabling students to fully focus on gaining the skills and knowledge required by the industry.

This partnership is based on the mutual sharing of resources and expertise between TSF Industrial Training Institutes and Tata Motors.

While there will be no direct monetary exchange, both parties are committed to contributing their best to ensure the success of this initiative.

Partnership will help create a pool of skilled manpower

Speaking on the occasion, Sourav Roy said, “We are committed towards ensuring that students of ITI receive an opportunity towards wholesome learning, packaged with the current industry standards and global consumer demand, and Tata Motors is the most befitting partner to extend this gesture towards community engagement. We thank our partner for this, as well as the community that trusts us to do what’s best for them and the ecosystem.”

This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between the skills required by the industry and the training provided to students.

By integrating practical, industry-relevant training into the ITI curriculum, this partnership will help create a pool of skilled manpower that is well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of the manufacturing sector.
