THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Daltonganj, December 5: A Delhi-based company has robbed the Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) of its peace and sleep both.

The company, in its missive to the university, has sought an unequivocal response in regard to the payment of the bills lying pending since August 2025.

The bills are worth little over 28 lakhs and 46 lakhs in respect of two cozy and state-of-the-art halls, the latter a conference hall, respectively, where right from Press Conference down to war room meeting like preparations for bigger events are held gracefully.

Company Warns of Dismantling Installations and Legal Action

University sources said the Delhi-based company has set December 14 as the day of the proper and adequate response of the university to the issue of the pending bills. The letter of the said company is very embarrassing, humiliating and unprecedented in nature for any university.

The letter reads that the company will dismantle its installed product for repossession of it and will explore legal options for further pursuance of the case of pendency of the bills at the appropriate forum, said university sources.

University sources further said both situations are shocking and most disturbing as the dismantling of the product installed for the retaking or repossessing of it by the company which has installed it, is unprecedented in the annals of the university.

The company has made it clear that it will complain against the university to the officers concerned with the GeM, which is the Central Public Procurement Portal of the Government of India.

University Cites Objections, Delays and Concerns Over Estimates

University sources are disinclined to explain the inordinate delay in payment of these two bills, reiterating the university is working, and the process of clearing the bills is underway. There is a serious hint of objections to the bills so presented in regard to the amount, which is 28 lakhs plus and 46 lakhs plus.

University sources said a perception has been built up that bills are spiralled ones and there is a cushion for money too.

It has resulted in the payment of the bills, which are in limbo right now.

Vice Chancellor of the Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) Dr Prof Dinesh Kumar Singh said, “We are seized with this issue. We are trying to resolve the issue at the earliest and amicably too.”

The company’s warning if not any intimidation, that it will explore legal options, is enough to dent the image and reputation of the university, as legal options start with sending a lawyer’s notice or legal notice, which later becomes the foundation of a major lawsuit in the Court, which this university can’t afford.

Sources said the bills are suspected to be inflated or hiked, while the university claims that the estimates for works are in tandem with the provisions of the GeM portal.

There is a serious deficit of trust in matters of finance which can be easily sorted out if both sides start taking a pragmatic approach to work.
