Jamshedpur, Jan 31: The Sikh community in Jamshedpur has welcomed the nomination of Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu to the Rajya Sabha.
Kulwinder Singh, former headmaster and advocate, has conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu, the Vice-Chancellor of Chandigarh University, to the Rajya Sabha. Singh, acknowledging the significance of the nomination, lauded the President for appointing an eminent educationist and farmer’s son to the Upper House.
In expressing his congratulations to Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu, Kulwinder Singh highlighted the President’s visionary move in nominating an individual dedicated to education and hailing from an agricultural background.

He commended Satnam Singh Sandhu for his role in establishing educational institutions in Chandigarh, thereby contributing to national unity and integrity. Singh also praised the global-level education provided by Sandhu to the new generation.
Kulwinder Singh, in light of the nomination, urged Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu to consider establishing educational institutions not only in Chandigarh and Punjab but also in Delhi, Jharkhand and Bihar. He emphasized the potential to provide global-level education to resident Sikhs and promising students from various sections, furthering the cause of quality education.
According to Singh, Satnam Singh Sandhu, a farmer’s son, initiated the establishment of Chandigarh Group of Colleges in 2001 and subsequently founded Chandigarh University in 2012. Within a short span of 11 years, the institution has risen to the top position among private universities in Asia, showcasing Sandhu’s unwavering dedication to the cause of education.
