Jamshedpur, Oct 25: Panic spread on the Sonari-Kadma Link Road early on Saturday morning after a speeding car went out of control and rammed into parked vehicles and pedestrians walking along the roadside.

A woman was injured in the incident, while several vehicles were damaged. According to reports, the car was being driven by a police personnel.

Eyewitness Sangeeta Kumari said that as usual, several people were walking and doing yoga along the roadside when the speeding car suddenly lost control and mounted the footpath.

One woman fell and sustained injuries. The sudden accident created chaos in the area as bystanders rushed toward the car.

Police from the Kadma police station reached the spot soon after receiving information.

The injured woman was taken to a nearby hospital in a police vehicle, where doctors administered first aid and discharged her after treatment.

Agitated locals surrounded the police team and demanded strict action against the driver.

Kadma police station in charge later arrived and pacified the crowd.

Residents pointed out that a large number of people use this road for morning walks and yoga, and reckless driving poses a serious threat.

They urged the administration to install speed breakers and take traffic control measures to prevent such accidents.

Owners of the damaged vehicles said they suffered losses despite no fault of their own.

Police officials assured that legal action would be taken against the driver and that necessary steps would be implemented to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists in the area.
