Navsari, March 8: On International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme in Gujarat’s Navsari district, attending the ‘Lakhpati Didi Sammelan’ at Vansi Borsi village.

During the event, he distributed Rs 450 crore in financial assistance to over 2.5 lakh women from more than 25,000 Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Navsari MP C R Paatil were also present at the event.

The ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative, launched by the Union government in 2023, recognizes women who are part of SHGs and earn at least Rs 1 lakh annually from agriculture, animal husbandry, and small industries.

Prime Minister Modi also held an inspiring dialogue, known as ‘prerna samvaad,’ with a group of these women, who shared their success stories.
