Dhanbad, Dec 5: Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro organised a colourful three-day fancy dress competition with over 400 students participating. The event showcased creativity and enthusiasm, with students embodying a variety of characters.
Day 1: Animals, birds, and icons take the stage
On the first day, Grade 1 students dressed as animals, birds, aquatic creatures, and plants, portraying lions, elephants, pythons, owls, pandas, dolphins, and trees.
Other students embraced the avatars of iconic figures such as Subhas Chandra Bose, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Einstein.

Many participants crafted their costumes using eco-friendly materials like jute, paper, and reusable scraps, underscoring the importance of sustainability and recycling.

Day 2: Celebrating cultural diversity and environmental awareness
The second day featured prep students, who celebrated India’s rich cultural diversity by wearing traditional attire representing states such as Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Punjab, as well as tribal communities.
Several participants portrayed marine creatures like octopuses, jellyfish, and turtles, raising awareness about aquatic conservation.
Others donned costumes of beloved cartoon characters such as Spiderman, Chota Bheem, and Doraemon, using these figures to advocate for nature protection and pollution control.

Grand Finale: Nursery students showcase creativity
The grand finale on Thursday highlighted the creativity of Nursery students, who dressed as professionals, insects, flowers, and trees.
Their performances as pilots, police officers, doctors, carpenters, and other community helpers emphasized themes of collaboration and service.
Outstanding performers in various categories were awarded certificates, encouraging their efforts and natural talents.

Principal applauds enthusiasm and learning
Dr AS Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro, expressed appreciation for the participants’ enthusiastic and active display.
“The focus is not on winning or losing but on learning the power to express, develop social skills, and confidence,” he remarked.
He also commended the dedication of students, parents, and teachers for making the event a grand success.
