Ranchi, June 20: Chief Minister Champai Soren today said that the state government is committed to empowering farmers. To this end, there are several schemes aimed at the improvement of agriculture and the well-being of farmers.

In a high-level meeting here on Thursday he emphasized that it must be ensured that these benefits reach the farmers, as their prosperity will strengthen the state’s rural economy.
During the meeting, officials briefed the Chief Minister on the progress of important agricultural schemes.

CM directs officials to talk to banks regarding farmers’ NPA waiver
The Chief Minister said that the state government has a plan to waive loans up to two lakh rupees under the Jharkhand Agricultural Loan Waiver Scheme. Earlier, loans up to 50 thousand rupees of farmers were waived.

The CM directed the officials to talk to banks for NPA waiver of those farmers who have outstanding agricultural loans, so that maximum number of farmers can get the benefit of this government scheme. Along with this, the loan waiver amount should be paid after proper verification of the deceased beneficiaries.
Timeline crucial while implementing the schemes
The Chief Minister said that the time factor is very important in agricultural work. In such a situation, along with distributing fertilizers and seeds among the farmers on time, other agricultural related materials should also be made available so that they can make full use of it.

Boring should be done by assessing water level in different areas
The Chief Minister said that there are significant variations in the water levels across different regions of the state. In some areas, the groundwater level is quite low, while in others it is relatively higher. Therefore, any boring should be conducted with consideration of the local groundwater level to ensure its success.
The Chief Minister gave this instruction to the officials during the review of Krishi Samridhi Yojana. Under this scheme, pump sets are to be distributed among the farmers.
Display information about availability of fertilizers and seeds on notice board of Lamps-PACS
The Chief Minister said that the state government provides fertilizers and seeds to farmers through Lamps-PACS. In such a situation, information regarding availability of fertilizers and seeds should be displayed on the notice board of all Lamps-PACS, so that farmers can get this information easily.
Communicate with farmers, farmer organizations and groups
The Chief Minister said that the government’s agriculture related schemes will be successful only when farmers get full benefit from them.
He asked the officials to communicate with farmers, farmer groups and farmer organizations regarding the schemes and get information about their problems from them.
If there is any error in any government scheme, then try to know it, so that those errors can be removed on time and its benefits can be provided to the farmers.
Work in coordination for Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Vikas Yojana
The Chief Minister said that Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Vikas Yojana is an ambitious scheme of the government.
Therefore, the scheme should be implemented in such a way that farmers can easily obtain livestock. It is essential to provide sheds and other necessary facilities along with the animals. To achieve this, all directorates under the Agriculture Department should work in coordination.
The Chief Minister also laid special emphasis on goat rearing. For this, he directed to create goat farms at the district level, where there should also be a system for its breeding.
