Ranchi, Jan 22: The installation ceremony of the new committee of the Jharkhand State Health Services Association (JSHSA), the frontal organization of state government medical officers, for the term 2025-27 will be held on January 24 at the IMA building in Ranchi.
Dr. Bimlesh Singh, the newly elected president of the association, announced that Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari is expected to be the chief guest at the event, along with other key officials from the state health department and former office bearers.
Election Results and New Committee Members
The election for the JSHSA’s new committee was conducted on January 20. A total of 16 office bearers, including Dr. Bimlesh Singh as president, 7 vice-presidents, 7 joint secretaries, and Dr. Stephen Xess as treasurer, were elected unopposed.

Dr. Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh was appointed general secretary, Dr. Sharad Kumar as convener, and Dr. Jagannath Hembrom from the Kolhan Division secured the vice-president position through voting.

Meeting to Finalize Patron and Executive Members
Dr. Bimlesh Singh informed that following the installation ceremony, the first meeting of the new committee will take place on the same day. During this meeting, the association’s patron and 20 executive members will be finalized.
“The numbers of executive members are fixed (20), but the number of patrons will be decided at the meeting,” said the president.
In the previous committee (2024-26), Dr. Krishna Kumar was the lone patron. In 2022, as the director-in-chief of health, he was unanimously made the patron after he declined to contest for president.
However, several names are being considered for the patron position this time, including the current director-in-chief, Dr. CK Sahi, and Dr. Shahir Pal, the senior-most medical officer and civil surgeon of Jamshedpur.

“Security of doctors, Medical Protection Act (MPA), DACP, promotion, and amendments to the Clinical Establishment Act (CEA) are some of the burning issues to be discussed in the first meeting of JSHSA,” said Dr. Singh.
