Daltonganj, March 24: Four youths, all above 18, first pulled mugs of wine and then ‘looted’ a Scorpio vehicle at Bataney Dam under the Chhaterpur police station limits on March 23. SP Reeshma Ramesan issued the press note today only.

The four had all the bad luck for them. One of the four looters who drove the looted vehicle met with a minor mishap at Sildaag when the side glass of the vehicle got damaged. The looter was driving haphazardly.

The occupants of the looted vehicle were there in the vehicle and reprimanded the looter at the wheels to drive safely.

The three other looters were on one bike.

SP Reeshma Ramesan said, “Among the four was one who was a criminal. The other three were just novices of the world of crime. As they had drunk, so they didn’t know what wrong they were doing.”

The fourth one escaped while the police nabbed the three and retained the Scorpio vehicle, added the SP Reeshma Ramesan.

Police have recovered one knife and four cell phones.

The nabbed three have been identified as Dipak, Perwesh and Nagender. Barring Nagender who hails from Pipra police station limits, Dipak and Perwesh come from Chhaterpur police station limits.

The three were remanded to judicial custody today in Daltonganj.

Locals and the police had this success jointly, said the SP.
