Jharkhand News: Avinash Kumar to lead Team India in veterans World Cup cricket

Dhanbad, February 18: Jamshedpur’s Avinash Kumar will lead 18 members of Team India (over 60 years of age) in the Veterans World Cup Cricket, scheduled to begin in Chennai tomorrow.

In the 18-member team, besides Avinash Kumar (captain), former ace batsman Subhash Chatterjee of Jharkhand is also included. Former Sanjay Ranjan Sinha of Patna ( Bihar ) also has a place.

Avinash Kumar, Sanjay Ranjan Sinha and Subhash Chatterjee in the 1980-1990s decade used to play in Dhanbad during undivided Bihar.

Former ace spinner of East zone Avinash Kumar, who successfully organized the national veteran cricket tournament in Jamshedpur last year, has been the team captain.

The team is – Avinash Kumar ( captain), Emmanuel Benjamin, Vidyadhar Padnekar, Sanjay Ranjan Sinha, Sanjay Beri, Sam David, Subhash Chatterjee, UR Radhakrishnan, Subramanya Raju, Ratan Sharma, Uday Kumar, Mario Fernandes, Pradeep Godbole, Viren Patel, AP Suresh Kumar, Balaji Ramanathan, Rajshekhar Raman. Rajendra Bhoombla.

 Team manager – R Neelakantan.

Reserved players- MM Siddique, Adil Chagla, Chandrashekhar, Iqbal Siddique, Paddy ( Padnabham).

  Championship schedule of India

As per the Veteran World Cup schedule, the Indian team will play against Sri Lanka at VB Nest Stadium in the inaugural match tomorrow (February 19.

On February 20, India will play against Wales at Wahe Guru Stadium; on February 22, India will play against West Indies at PEBL City Stadium; on February 23, India will play against the Rest of the World at Wahe Guru Stadium Chennai; on February 26, India will play against Australia at PEBL City Stadium.
